ROCCHETTA TANARO
In the village you can see the remains of the wall and part of the “Incisa” della Rocchetta castle, the cylindrical tower. The Parochial church built in the 1700 on a pre-existing medieval chapel in Piazza Italia. The Santa Caterina church of Battuti’s Confraternita with its cross vaults in the Cistercian church. The Roman architecture is also present in Ciappellette chapel in Via Ciappellette.

Monferrato is very rich of old and historical Roman and Medieval center, castles, churches, abbeys and museums, that remind us of the areas past. The closeness to the great historical, architectonic and artistic places, put Rocchetta Tanaro in a strategic position for hiking and trips to discover the Territory. Also Langhe and Roero are easy to reach, being very close to Rocchetta Tanaro.

NATURAL PARKS
Rocchetta Tanaro Natural Park in the hamlet of Sant’Emiliano Extension of 123 hectares. Free visits all year round, guided by reservation. Available to visitors marked paths, cycle path, equestrian path, path for the blind, area equipped for disabled people, picnic areas. On Saturdays and Sundays, from April to October, it is possible to take advantage of the refreshment service at the park car park. During the year, walks, excursions and events are organized within the EUROPARC program. The “Casa del Parco” is a multifunctional structure, characterized by a certain debate and a hostel.

Riserva Naturale Integrale Il Verneto. The WWF Oasis Il Verneto is a plain lowland wood of black alders, a relict presence and now disappeared throughout the Po Valley. The Oasis area occupies about 3 hectares. At Verneto trees have not been cut for over 60 years and some specimens are of impressive size. The most valuable area of the forest was purchased with funds from the Beniamino operation.

Archaeological Museum of Asti
The archaeological museum, located in San Pietro in Consavia, consists largely of four private collections donated to the Municipality in the early decades of the 1900s. The material includes pre-Roman metals, Greek, Magna Graecia and Etruscan ceramics and a substantial collection of Roman finds: terracotta pottery and lamps, cinerary urns, glass, bronzes. The Egyptian section includes two mummies, the related wooden sarcophagi, canopic vases and a series of religious-funerary objects.

Museo delle Contadinerie
The Museo Bersano delle Contadinerie e Stampe Antiche del Vino is set up in the homonymous winery. Inside there is a precious collection of tools used by the agricultural world in the countryside of Monferrato and Langhe. There is also a rich collection dedicated to wine labels.

Cesare Pavese’s birthplace Museum
The Cesare Pavese’s birthplace hosts a lot of evidence of his activity such as the entire collection of his works and translation in different languages, his photographs and of the places where his books take place and a section dedicated to studies of the author.
